When you email or call us, we’ll send you a quick online questionnaire to gather the basics about your project. From there, we’ll arrange a phone consultation to discuss your ideas and organise a site visit.

This means when we meet in person, we can spend less time covering the basics and more time talking about your vision, your goals and how we can bring them to life.

We’ll visit your site or existing home to understand exactly what you’re working with. Every property has its own opportunities and challenges, and seeing these firsthand allows us to provide honest, practical advice about what’s possible.

You’ll leave the meeting with a clearer understanding of your project and the best path forward.

Once we’ve established your vision, we’ll help get the design process underway. If you need an architect or designer, we’re happy to recommend trusted professionals we’ve worked with. If you’ve already engaged someone, we’ll work alongside them to ensure everything aligns with your goals.

Once your concept plans are approved, your designer will prepare the detailed construction drawings required for building consent. Engineering and structural engineering input may also be required depending on your project.

Throughout the design and consent stages, we’re available to help with product selections, design decisions and any construction-related questions, ensuring you’re supported every step of the way.

For straightforward projects, we’ll begin pricing once your selections have been made. For larger designed projects, we’ll ask you to finalise your fixtures, finishes and key product selections first, as these decisions can influence your overall investment.

We then obtain pricing from our trusted subcontractors and suppliers before preparing a detailed estimate.

We’ll meet with you to walk through every part of your estimate, explaining exactly what’s included, what’s excluded and why everything has been priced the way it has.

We’ll also explain the HALO guarantee, discuss the building consent process and answer any questions you have, so you can move forward with complete confidence.

Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll secure your place in our construction schedule and prepare your New Zealand Certified Builders contract.

You’ll know when your project is starting, what the expected timeline looks like and what happens next—no wondering when your builder will turn up.

This is where your project starts coming to life.

Our team will be on site regularly, and we’ll schedule client meetings throughout the build so you’re always informed about progress, upcoming decisions and what’s happening next.

Before handover, we’ll carry out a thorough quality inspection to ensure everything meets our standards. We’ll walk through the finished project with you, answer any questions and make sure you’re happy before we consider the job complete.
